Today I want to share with you an incredible gastronomic experience that I had at Peixoto Sushi, a Japanese restaurant that recently opened in Leblon, one of the most charming neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro. Peixoto Sushi is an extension of Peixoto Deli, a famous fish market in Bairro Peixoto, in Copacabana, which offers fresh and high-quality fish. The couple Beni and Viviane Schvartz, owners of the fish market and the restaurant, are passionate about oriental cuisine and fishing, and decided to fulfill their dream of having their own sushi bar.

The restaurant has a pleasant and modern atmosphere, with a spacious balcony and a cozy indoor lounge. In addition, the restaurant has a bar where delicious drinks signed by renowned mixologist Alex Mesquita come out.

Peixoto Sushi’s kitchen is led by chefs Mauro Rodrigues and Kley Lima, who have more than 20 years of experience in Japanese restaurants. They prepare traditional and creative dishes using the best ingredients and techniques. The menu is varied and caters to all tastes, from classic sashimis and sushis to special combinations and delicacies such as toro, eel and crayfish.

I went to Peixoto Sushi on a Saturday night and was delighted with everything I tried. I started with the Shrimp Canudinho, which are VG shrimp wrapped in crispy dough and served with homemade pepper jelly. A delicious and different starter! Then, I ordered the Kokai Combination, which comes with 38 varied pieces of sashimis, sushis and rolls. I was impressed with the quality and beauty of the fish, which were very fresh and cut to the right size. The sushis were soft and tasty, and the rolls were creative and carefully prepared. Highlight for the eel sushi, which was divine!

I loved meeting Peixoto Sushi and highly recommend it to anyone who likes quality Japanese food. The restaurant has great service, a pleasant atmosphere and a varied menu. In addition, the prices are fair for the quality offered. Peixoto Sushi is open from Tuesday to Sunday and holidays, both for lunch and dinner. They also deliver through IFood or restaurant channels.

I hope you enjoyed this gastronomic tip and visit Peixoto Sushi when you’re in Leblon. I guarantee you will be surprised by this Japanese restaurant!
