CT Boucherie
French with a Brazilian soul
July 21, 2023 • 3 min read • 470 wordsThe amount of good restaurants in Leblon always impresses me. One of my favorites is CT Boucherie. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s worth it.
CT Boucherie was created by chef Claude Troisgros, one of the most renowned names in Brazilian gastronomy. He is the son of Pierre Troisgros, one of the founders of the French nouvelle cuisine, and brought to Brazil his experience and creativity in the kitchen. The mix he makes of French cuisine with Brazilian ingredients is fantastic.
CT Boucherie is one of his several restaurants in Rio, and has the concept of offering noble cuts of meat prepared with mastery and accompanied by a buffet of delicious side dishes. The atmosphere of CT Boucherie is cozy and elegant, with a decor that evokes a French bistro atmosphere. The service is attentive and efficient, and the mood is relaxed and lively. The restaurant has outdoor seating that overlooks Dias Ferreira Street, one of the liveliest in Leblon, where you can people watch and feel the energy of the neighborhood.
The menu of CT Boucherie is varied and tempting, with options for all tastes. The highlights are the steaks and fish, which are served mostly in individual portions. There are cuts such as filet mignon, chateaubriand, bife de chorizo, prime rib, fraldinha, octopus, salmon and fish of the day. All are grilled on charcoal and seasoned with simple seasoning that enhance the raw material. They come with sauces such as béarnaise, roquefort, dijon mustard, and chimichurri.
But in my opinion, the high point are the side dishes, which are served at your table non-stop. There are more than 15 options of side dishes, such as gratin potatoes, baroa potato puree, egg farofa, broccoli rice, fried polenta, ratatouille, green salad. The apple puree with passion fruit is a must. And there I ate for the first time farofa using panko instead of cassava flour. It’s impossible not to enjoy so much variety and flavor.
For those who want to come back many times, I recommend the executive lunch, with a much more affordable price, and everything there is delicious.
To drink, there is a well-selected wine list, with national and imported labels. There are also craft beers, classic and specialty drinks, natural juices and soft drinks. To tell you the truth, we never managed to eat desserts there, so I can’t give an opinion about it! The side dishes are really delicious and special.
CT Boucherie is a restaurant that is worth knowing and coming back whenever possible. The best hours to go are for lunch or dinner during the week, or brunch on Sundays. On weekends at night it tends to get very crowded, so it’s good to make a reservation in advance. The price is fair for the quality and quantity offered. I highly recommend it!
